Another listing today for some additional Halloween props. Years ago we did a neighborhood haunted house. We fully emptied our oversized garage and partitioned it off into six separate areas each containing a separate scene. We rotated scenes each year as we added new props and ideas.
One of the little kids favorite exhibits was our mummy room. We constructed a tomb and spray painted it gold and adorned it with hieroglyphic writing. The base of the tomb had offerings in the form of crystal gems.
The tomb also had a couple of snakes that were positioned as if coming out of the tomb. The tomb was deconstructed and broken down but is is very easy to build one.We simply started with the construction of a square wooden box and then added ornamental looking fixtures, handles, etc on the outside. We had the top of the tomb allow for it to be opened by using hardware that had it swing open like a door. It was very simple to do. Just let your imagination run wild and you will create something very cool. This listing includes the various free standing props that were included as part of the scene.
The first prop is the traditional looking mummy prop that was included in a coffin filled with plastic leaves and positioned alongside the tomb. The second prop is a high quality latex mummy that is very detailed and does not contain the usual cloth wrappings. It is all latex with open back and can stand if supported by wall in back in your scene. We also had this prop in a coffin next to the tomb. The third mummy prop was the exhibit guard and the mummy vibrates and grunts on a sensor.
If you have music on in your exhibit you will not hear him and his shaking is not pronounced. I believe this prop was retired. You might want him to simply be free standing. The last mummy is more of a head-dress. Given how regal he looked, we had him attached to a small PVC structure so that with the tomb opened he looked like he was sitting up in the tomb looking over his kingdom. The PVC structure is very easy to create as well. We finished off the scene with bones and skulls around the tomb since you can never have enough bones and skulls in a Halloween exhibit. So the following are all included in this listing. This scene will require a little work and imagination but it can be really cool at its completion.
